My favourite reactions are all from other runners — thumbs up, “that’s awesome,” etc. Although listening to tiny kids ask “Mummy why does that person have no shoes?” is quite fun too. Worst are the hostile reactions from men yelling “put some shoes on” from their white vans and builders/street repair people telling me they hope I’ll get hurt.
